Had my 70th birthday there with family and friends think there were 15 or 16 of us staff little bit abrupt waited ages for tomatoe sauce and mayo to come out 15mins as had been served our meal waited ages for suger to come out after our coffees food wasnt that night very dissapointed one steak rare was less rare than should been and very grisely couldnt eat it gougons tough gammon very fatty chewy and not cooked enough the brownie very very small also we were waiting in a very busy pub we had no seats our table was ready but no one said we could go to sit down0 at our table dont think i will be returning again the price of the food i thought it would be much better

Party of 4 friends taking advantage of 'girls night in' offer. Stayed in one of the Lodges. Cant complain about lodge was spotlessly clean everything you need, hot tubs warm an ready to go, lodge really warm n cosy. One big complaint though .. the continental breakfast!! No milk for cereals, very stale coissants, and 4 slices of bread!!! Terrible as we were expecting to cook our breakfast or eat in restaurant!! The offer didnt state continental so very disapointed!!

Came in at 11am, was told we could have coffee. A woman got the lady that works in the restaurant. The woman came over, was abrupt and rude, asked if I wanted coffee now and I explained i was waiting for someone. I was left stood in the entrance. She started walking into the conservatory part assuming she was seating me i followed, she turned around and told me to go sit in the bar. So went to the bar and sat down, she told me I couldn't sit on the table I was at and to sit somewhere else. Her whole demeanor made it clear I wasn't welcome so before the person I was meeting even arrived, I left.

Just had a lovely Christmas party night and stay. Food was fantastic. Staff were great. Room was fabulous. Looking forward to next year.

Very mixed experience. Yes the lodge is very nice, clean and it’s in a lovely area but the restaurant is terrible. Be warned there is no WiFi as advertised on their website. I also had confirmation on my booking the WiFi was included but when we arrived we didn’t have WiFi. I spoke to reception about it and they said sorry the lodges don’t have WiFi and I asked why it was on my confirmation and I said I wouldn’t have booked here if I had no WiFi as I need access for work while I was here. All I got was an apology, no solution. So I was stuck here without internet and if I knew that I wouldn’t have booked here. The staff were just dismissive about it. We ate inside on the first night and they got the order wrong, which isn’t a disaster as rectified but we also got a takeaway from the restaurant another night and it was disgusting. A simple request to leave the peppers off the burger was ignored and the burger was tough and not edible, the bun was very soggy and like mush, it was disgusting so the burger was as thrown away. A waste and f money completely. The chunky chips weren’t cooked enough and were hard in the middle. Such a shame as the lodge itself was lovely but the rest of the experience ruined the stay.

The hotel is very dated and in urgent need of renovation. Not only are the bedrooms outdated, I have to say that the hotel was one of the most unclean hotels we have ever stayed in. The Windows and mirrors all around the hotel we dirty and smeared. The floors were grubby and the carpets, particularly in the room we stayed in, were gross. In the dining room the chairs were sticky with grease and grim and they looked terrible. The hotel could be fabulous, but it needs a lot of work to clean it up.

We booked a double room for 11th June 2024, unfortunately I was taken into hospital that day, my stay in hospital lasted 3 days! We needed to pick up our new car from that area the next day, hence booking at this hotel. We paid ahead and tried to get our money back, because of my hospital admission we couldn't make our booking. The hotel refused to even consider refunding all or part of our money, we lost out! We even had to pay for our car to be delivered to us in the Highlands, as my recovery took a couple of months. VERY POOR service and customer care, not even worth one star.....

Had to leave due to family emergency was told I would be refunded due to the circumstances only to receive an email the next morning to say I wouldn't be getting a refund due to late cancellation like it was my fault I had to leave
No compassion or consideration like I wanted to leave early I was on holiday a break away which was much needed however I had to rush back due to family member being taken ill you would think people would be more understanding

We had our Wedding Reception here this summer and could.not fault the service and staff. Dave, Katie and Paul the chef gave us everything we asked for. The rooms were clean and comfortable with adequate bathroom essentials. Breakfast was ideal. Thanks to all the staff for helping to make our day so special.

I was a bit miffed (well verry annoy) with my booking here (long story). Then no toiletries in the room. Staff were friendly, but food was average and nothing there stood out or redeemed the room booking madness.

Not a bad hotel, but none of the sockets worked in our room. We reported it to reception, before we went out, but when we returned, later that night, they still hadn't been fixed. The chap that was on duty, all by himself, resolved the problem around 10.30pm. Thank you to him for solving it. The room, next door, was very noisy until 2am.

We went here for our first family holiday with our daughter. Such a beautiful location and so peaceful. Area is lovely and the staff were so helpful and friendly.
We stayed for 4 nights and could have stayed longer. The weather helped as well as we were able to use our private hot tub to our lodge every day we were there.
Would definitely be coming back.
Only thing that let it down was the cleanliness. Now it wasn’t rotten but the carpet was heavily stained and covered in hair in the living room so we couldn’t let our daughter crawl around and the cabinets in the kitchen were slightly spotted with food marks on the outside. However we loved our stay and the rest of the cleanliness was top marks.
