Nice place, comfortable room, reasonably priced.
Breakfast good could be warmer on a hot plate. As to pay a £1.00 deposit for some reason of security,? which when checking on my on line banking seemed to have gone to some Pub in Stoke on Trent? Bit weird.

Brilliant night at the Tollgate Hotel letting in the New Year. Brilliant entertainment by Katie and Georgie ,friendly staff ,super buffet would highly recommend .

For £60 this was good value for money. The motel style room was spotlessly clean but very dated. The whole place looks tired and unloved but comfortable. Breakfast was a very well cooked full English. Friendly and helpful service. Just watch for the drop portholes on the drive out

For £60 a night we're not complaining. Unusual hotel/motel within a cricket ground. Plenty of parking but watch out for the deep potholes. Lovely welcome at reception although the place looked deserted when we arrived. The room was spacious, spotless and well equipped with coffee, tea milk, soap and toiletries. The bed was big and "springy " but we slept well. Breakfast was mega which we enjoyed alone in the main building. Again we were warmly welcomed. Don't expect luxury but you will get warmth and comfort.

Lovely helpful receptionist, but room a disappointment: feeble shower; “king size” bed simply two singles pushed together - my friend and I fell down the gap several times; tv remote unreliable and control on actual tv unusable 😒

Took our money when booking drove there at 8:30 at night to be told they don’t accept local people even tho i live 10 miles away! Hassle getting a refund! Complete and utter joke! Avoid!

"My stay at Tollgate Hotel was disappointing due to the poor service and cleanliness. The room cleaning staff were rude, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was subpar. The condition of the room was also unsatisfactory, with a need for replacement of the bed, carpet, and other items. I hope the hotel management takes steps to improve these issues for future guests."

The room was freezing cold, so I asked the reception to swap rooms where the heating has been turned on. They gave us a different one, we had the same problem again no heating. It was freezing cold. The shower had super cold water, the shower pressure was lower than my wee pressure.

Really nice hotel with spacious rooms. The service was impeccable, the staff were very friendly . The only downside was the lack of air conditioning in the room. They also do a Sunday roast which was absolutely delicious! We had a carrot and coriander soup for starter which was sublime followed by roast beef with potatoes, veg Yorkshire and gravy. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was very well priced too. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Stayed here a night with the family and it was a wonderful experience, to say the least. The receptionists were very warm, friendly, and down-to-earth; they welcomed us for meals and seemed genuinely happy to help with our queries. The rooms themselves were rustic and homely where comfort was not an issue. Highly recommend this for business or vacation purposes any day.

Just home from a weekend at the Stafford classic bike show. Booked a twin room for last night. On arrival the hotel manageress was incredibly polite and helpful. The room was very nice, the bar area and food were also very good. The whole experience was very good, mainly because of the hard work carried out by the manageress and the chef. Thankyou you so much. Brilliant.

Stayed one night as visiting family in the area. We booked a ground floor family room for 3 adults. It was very clean & smelled fresh. Very quiet at night. There was tea & coffee available plus some toiletries were provided. The room was a bit dated but perfectly acceptable for the price. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, plentiful & tasty. Staff were helpful & efficient. I sent an email query before arrival & received a reply with all the info I needed very quickly. Plenty of parking.

Very poor,rooms dated and in need of refurbishment.
No tables set for breakfast,no fresh milk,no vegetarian sausage,eggs overcooked and beans cold.
Will not be staying here again.

The room was shameful, dried liquid above the headboard, cigarette Ash on the net curtains ( it was a non smoke room), mold in the bathroom, ripped chair, water stain marks on the ceiling and brown mark on wall by bathroom door. Management is dreadful, the lady tried for over 2 hours to get hold of the oncall manager, who never answered their phone or even message back. Got told there was nothing they could do, 2 hours we waited for an answer. After 2 hours we got a different room, even though we got told the place was fully booked. Not heard off the manager for an apology, would definitely not recommend. Worse place I have ever stayed and was not worth the money.
