Small but nice travelodge. Staff were friendly, room was clean. Only negative is its sign post is really badly positioned, everyone we talked to missed the entrance and had to do a loop up to a roundabout to get back to the entrance.

I was put here by my local council for nealy 2 months up till Christmas 2024 it was very depressing time for me. I was and still am recovering from a broken hip, and I also have multiple fractures in my back. I was sent here away from my famiy and friends. all my support network were miles away. But the staff here (whom I would now like to call friends) were Ab Fab, they really helped cheer me up no end. They went out of their way to help me with anything I needed, nothing was too much trouble for them. I really do appreciate everything they did for me. I hope I made them laugh as much as they did me. The rooms were very clean, there was fresh linen & fresh towels as and when they were wanted. Tea, coffee and sugar all readily available. The hotel rooms do need updating I can't lie but they are spotless, cleaned regulary by lovely staff. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but there is a Toby pub next door. So if you are thinking about booking here I can guarantee all the staff will make you really welcome. Jojo my fav who works the afternoon/early evening shift went above and beyond to make sure I was ok. Also Nicola helped me out immensley with everything. But all the staff were great and made sure I had a safe, clean and comfortable stay, under my horrible circumstances.. Thank you everyone xx

One of the best Travelodge hotels out there, friendly helpful staff.

The staff were friendly and polite and made us feel welcome unfortunately that’s where the positive experience ended. The room was very tired dirty marks on the duvet cover and towels. The shower gel was empty and the extraction fan wasn’t working so the smells and steam became stuck in an enclosed room. The bed was awful , I seem to recall staying previously and the bed was much bigger. This bed was smaller and hard resulting in a very bad night sleep. We paid over £100 for one night stay plus an early booking in fee .

The staff were very friendly. It’s situated on a good link road. Toby Carvery is right next door and is very reasonable. The only downside is the seat in the shower was very dirty

We travelled from out of area to attend a funeral. This is the smallest Travelodge we've ever stayed in and it suited us well. The staff were friendly and helpful. We really liked the location being next to the Toby Carvery for our evening meal and breakfast. The important issue we want to highlight to Travelodge management is we couldn't see the TRAVELODGE SIGN from the busy road we were on. We did see the Toby sign but didn't realise we should have used the exact same entrance road (which is quite small and is located immediately BEFORE the Toby sign). If you over-shoot the turn-in, you can end up driving 6 miles further on before being able to turn back and drive for another 6 miles! The next morning when walking in the grounds, we noticed that there is in fact a TRAVELODGE sign but the branches and leaves of a large tree are completely obscuring it from the roadway. Could management please urgently see to either trimming the tree's branches or relocating the Travelodge sign so other people can find the small access road a lot easier? Anyone staying here, TURN IN A FEW YARDS BEFORE THE TOBY SIGN. Excellent value for our room.

Staff were really nice, shower was a rubbish but usable. Where my room was the pedestrian noise from the pub was bad.

Great travel lodge, location rural next to a fantastic Toby carvery! The location was hindered by siri on the sat navigation as she tells you to go right at the roundabout instead of left and turn right! So we went up the a132 3 times ... Once in booking was easy although we've learnt about booking too early as our room prices were higher but then we couldn't risk it! The staff were great, kerry especially and our room was as good as any other travel lodge, clean and the bed was lush! We had plenty of channels on our TV and warm showers and lovely clean towels. yes walls are thin but what do you expect! On the whole the other guests were respectful and quiet! Staff helped disabled parents and gave them a room down stairs! The Toby carvery next door is great! Best ive been too and busy! I've never stayed near London before so it's rural appeal was just right for a Welsh visitor! Wickford town centre was up the road and we would stay here again to see family close by.

We stayed here for one night while we were having work done at home. It was a twin room, costing £72.99. The information about the room indicated that there were toiletries in the room for showering etc. Unfortunately there was no hair/shower gel in the dispenser for our shower, so consequently no shower for us! The television did not work properly, having only one channel that you could watch without the picture breaking up or getting a message about no signal. The room needed a better clean; there were cobwebs and dust bobbles on the walls. One positive thing is that the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately some of the other guests were extremely noisy, which only made the whole sorry situation even worse. The hotel generally looks tired & rundown & in need of some care & attention. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. It certainly was not worth £72.99 for one night!!

This stay was OK. We found out that this travelodge was also being used as temporary accommodation for those awaiting housing which wasn't what you'd like to here when you are paying the prices for the room. Walls were extremely thin and could here everything. Although bed was rather comfortable to sleep in.

Needs an update, pretty old fashioned even as travelodges go. Lot of banging, most travelodges are noisy though. Next to a Toby carvery

Simple yet clean rooms. Staff was very friendly, check-in and checkout were very quick and easy. Bed was comfortable enough. Plenty of free parking. Not much in the area, but that was fine for us, it was just a place to rest our heads at night. The only drawbacks: thin walls (our neighbors were relatively quiet thank goodness) and no air conditioning. Thankfully it wasn’t hot out when we stayed, but I can imagine it would be toasty on a hot day. Windows do not open very far, but they do provide a fan you can plug in. Decent for the price

The rooms were clean and pleasant, which was a plus. However, there was a major downside to my stay - the thin walls. I could hear a couple arriving at 1 am, who seemed a bit tipsy and were loudly trying to set their alarm with Siri (after calling it Alex's for 5min). Thankfully, they went to sleep, not engaging in other nocturnal activities... The lack of local amenities was disappointing, with only a fairly average Toby Carvery nearby. Not very easy to get taxi's with Uber, Free Now not working and local firms not very active locally. On a positive note, the standout highlight of my stay was the exceptional service provided by the lady who checked us in; she was fabulous. We felt it was quite expensive for what the hotel offered overall. In summary, the Travelodge in Basildon Wickford had clean and nice rooms, but the thin walls and limited local amenities made it less than ideal, despite the excellent staff.

Arriving I was greeted by Courtney, who from the offset was exceptional - she went out of her way to help me, where my company failed. She also had time to laugh and joke, making my stressful arrival so much more agreeable. Thank you for your fantastic customer service Look forward to another visit. Situated next to a Toby carvery, although very quiet. There isn’t anything within walking distance.

The members of staff, Victoria and Sue ere really helpful, friendly and kind during this visit (as was Kerry during my last visit - ran out of time to post this previously). I had an issue last time with room last time re noise from the Toby which Kerry sorted out by making sure I had a different room this time which was fantastic - I did not even have to ask). I also received an e-voucher from Travel Lodge (which Kerry kindly organised) despite the issue not being their fault. I would fully recommend people staying at this venue. Thank you agai Kerry, Sue and Victoria for making my stay so welcoming.☺
