Second time staying here and just as good. Very comfortable/quiet room, the evening meal was very good and breakfast the following morning a great start to the day. The surrounding coastline makes for some great walks so an ideal place to getaway

First visit. It's such a lovely, calm hotel. Super staff. Good food. The room we had was perfect with a view over to Orford Ness. It is located in a beautiful village.

We visited for a meal, which was very nice. Portions were a little on the small side for the price , but could not fault the taste. I had the pork cutlet which was lovely. The cannellini beans had a slight tang to them verging on the seafood taste - I have woken up this morning with a touch of food poisoning which is unfortunate. Banoffee artic roll was fantastic! My partner was very complimentary about her courses (parfait, duck, dark chocolate sponge). We were planning to head back soon however given ‘recent events’ we might wait a little while longer. Staff were efficient and attentive which adds a lot to the evening. If I had been leaving my review last night it would’ve been higher.

Pleased to be able to go in just for a drink as all the other local pubs had closed early on a Sunday. Friendly staff, comfy seating and reasonably priced drinks.

Outstanding hotel. Beautiful interior of bar, restaurant and room. This all was very tasteful. Traditional elements were remained. Very friendly staff. Excellent dinner and breakfast.

Stayed here overnight - nice rooms, well organised and set up well to cover its custom - a sandwich offer for lunch and 'modern' coffee with breakfast would be a cherry to top

We stayed last minute for a night over bank holiday weekend. Delicious dinner - we had the half lobster and sea bass, and was cooked superbly. Breakfast was good too. V friendly staff. Would recommend.

I entered the pub and had to use the toilet, the pub was empty and I saw no personnel, however, on my way back I came across not very polite staff who questioned why I used their toilet. Very rude, I could be pregnant or could have a disability or other issues. No one should be questioning why they need to use a toilet. Won't visit again. What a let down. They probably expected me to look for a member of staff to ask for permission. Well, in this case just put a sign up you don't welcome anyone to use the wc unless you buy a drink or food from them.

Excellent friendly service, great restaurant and food, lovely location. Let down by a poor dated room (garden room) and a terrible bed. If you book a room that's dog friendly, expect it to smell of dog even if you are dog free! Bed should have been retired 10 years ago.

Having stayed here two times before it was a shame to see the hotel looking a bit tired and in need of some love. We stayed in a garden room as were with dog. The room was ok but the headboard was stained. The bathroom was in need of painting and an update. We ate there one eve and considering the incredible food to be found close by - The Greyhound Inn in particular, they need to look at seriously improving their game. Two slots of 6.15 and 8.15 to eat also not so great in respect of service. Orford remains a very special place - The Hotel Folk need to invest in this hotel.

Excellent restaurant with rooms (21) in a lovely characterful village in a quiet remote part of Suffolk. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food first class.

This is a lovely hotel next to the castle in the centre of the village. The garden rooms were clean, modern and fresh and had a sitting area in the garden. I guess the best rooms are in the main building which are hard to come by as is a dinner reservation unless you get in early. However he decor is amazing and the breakfast excellent. Adequate car parking and friendly staff.

A delightful hotel just off the square in Orford. Pleasant walks around the area and down to the quayside. The rooms were comfortable and the food was of a very high standard, would definitely go again.

Lovely food, and most importantly they have a dog table which you can book. This means rather than the usual pub food one ends up with with a dog, one can have really high-quality food with the dog being fully accommodated for.

Living locally I can honestly say this is by far the best place by far locally to enjoy, and nothing short of a superb meal in a fabulous location. The food is always wonderful with amazing puddings. We really enjoyed our rhubarb pudding on our latest visit yesterday for Sunday lunch. The staff are always well presented and welcoming,impeccable. My husband and I very much wish to book for the weekend and stay even though we only live a few miles away. Thankyou.

The Crown and Castle is a particularly excellent hotel, for a variety of reasons. Slightly more expensive than some, but when you stay here you realize that it is worth it, as everything has been thought through.

We had such an enjoyable experience on our recent visit to the Crown and Castle restaurant. The food was excellent(venison being the standout dish) and a lovely bottle of wine (great recommendation) and seamless service and only a short walk away from where we were staying. My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting with our Aunt and enjoyed a drink at the bar (superb Negroni) before moving to the dining room for dinner. The restaurant was full, testament to this establishment and their team given it was a Monday night in January. Looking forward to returning again and again.
