Bit of a walk from llanberis but well worth it for the views at the top, the museum itself was educational and even had realistic smells, lots of videos and signage to explain what happened in the hospital

Great walk up or you can take the stairs; beautiful view of the lake from the top and the hospital is a fascinating time portal. Very picturesque place.

Spectacular place with a nice view over the lake. Iconic building which was dedicated as a old quarry men hospital. Just a few mins walk from the parking place for National slate museum. Nicely arranged museum which has a great history and some corner stones in early health care. Lot of valuable, historic medical equipment on display. Well worth a visit and enjoy the scenic view too.

We've just been today. It's open until 16:30h. It's worth it for the view and the museum itself. Very interesting history and artifacts. You can learn how life was during the years the quarry was open. So interesting stories about the health workers that were there and the patients. Also the tools and facilities there. I so recommend it.

Worth a walk around to see how these early examples of health insurance worked and ultimately led to the formation of the NHS.

Beautiful views but unfortunately closed. Worth checking opening times. I'd say we'll worth the short easy walk anyway.

This is a great place to visit. I took my 12 year old son and his friend. Entry is free, parking costs £5.00 for the day. There is plenty to see and a map is provided to help with locating buildings. There were videos providing information and a smithy, who was really informative and friendly telling us all about the furnaces etc. A cafe sells reasonably priced food and drink, toilets are available in a couple of locations, WiFi is also provided free if required. I can highly recommend a day out here it's in a beautiful location. They rely purely on donations so don't forget to leave one before you leave, it was well worth it.

Been four times and yet to find it open ,would be very helpful if there was a sign on carpark stating if it's open or not , especially when you have children with you and weather isn't brill

Great little museum. Well worth the walk up to look around, although opening times are a little bit variable by all accounts. There was a sandwich board up next to the information kiosk at the car park saying when it was open.

This is a great place. Lots to learn about the hospital and how it became expert at all sorts thanks to the constant flow of injured and sick miners... they lived a very very tough life. The views over lake Padarn are stunning and you can see the track and railway that leads up to Snowdon on the opposite side of the valley.
