The Museo delle Marionette in Campomorone, Liguria, is a significant museum dedicated to the history and art of puppetry. It is located in the Palazzo Balbi, the seat of the municipality, and was founded in February 1996. In May 2013, it was renovated to better showcase the collection.
The museum's collection includes over 70 puppets, 265 costume pieces, furniture, props, over 100 scripts, as well as sets and curtains. These exhibits come from the collection of Angelo Cenderelli, a pioneer, designer, set builder, and puppeteer who ran his own puppet theater. His collection is of great interest due to the variety and complexity of materials, offering the opportunity to fully reconstruct an ancient art form.
A special feature of the museum is a small theater area that allows visitors to experience moments of performance during their visit, keeping the tradition of puppetry alive.
