Collections and Exhibitions
The exhibition includes over 800 objects ranging from the conquest of Novara by the Savoys in 1734 to the Breach of Porta Pia in 1870. Some of the most notable exhibits include:
The Bandiera della Guardia Nazionale di Novara from 1848, the first Tricolore of the Savoys.
The Maschera mortuaria di Cavour, one of the three existing death masks of Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour.
Relics from the battlefield of Bicocca on March 23, 1849.
Equipment, weapons, and uniform parts of the soldiers of that time.
Documents, photographs, and prints, including a significant collection from Novara's Franco Guerra.
The exhibition places particular emphasis on the visibility and comprehensibility of the exhibits, allowing visitors to touch some objects to better understand their weight, production, and function.
Educational Offerings and Events
The Expo del Risorgimento takes a didactic approach and is particularly aimed at young visitors. Admission is free, and the exhibition relies on voluntary contributions from visitors and the voluntary work of the members of the "Associazione Amici del Parco della Battaglia."
