Brixen, the oldest city in Tyrol, offers a wealth of attractions that reflect its rich history and culture.

Brixen Cathedral and Cloister

At the heart of the city is Brixen Cathedral, an impressive structure with origins dating back to the 10th century. The baroque interior houses a fresco by Paul Troger depicting the "Lamb of God." Next to the cathedral is the cloister, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture with well-preserved frescoes depicting religious themes and insights into medieval life.

Hofburg Brixen

The Hofburg, a Renaissance bishop's palace, was begun in the 13th century and is one of the most important noble residences in South Tyrol. The Diocesan Museum inside houses numerous artworks, including an impressive nativity scene with 5,000 figures created for Bishop Karl Franz Lodron.

White Tower

The 72-meter-high White Tower, built in the 15th century, is a landmark of the city. It houses a carillon with 43 bells that play daily at 11 o'clock, allowing over a hundred different melodies to be heard. From the viewing platform, there is an impressive view over Brixen and the surrounding area.

Pharmacy Museum Brixen

Located in a nearly 500-year-old building, the Pharmacy Museum showcases the development of pharmacy over the centuries. The exhibition includes historical medicines, pharmacy equipment, and a library for historical research.

Neustift Monastery

Located about 5 kilometers northwest of Brixen, Neustift Monastery was founded in 1142. The complex includes a Romanesque collegiate church, a Gothic cloister, a monastery library, and the "Miracle Well." The monastery is also known for its wine production.

Old Town of Brixen

The old town of Brixen charms with its medieval structure featuring narrow streets, colorful houses, and the characteristic arcades that were the economic center of the city in the Middle Ages. Today, numerous shops and cafes invite visitors to linger.
