Vintage Motorradmuseum in Carlisle

A really interesting collection of bikes, mainly British, but also a few MV, Moto Guzzi and an EMW, made in the old BMW factory in Eisenach. After the partition of Germany, BMW weren't happy about the Easern German factory using their name, so they produced old model BMWs under the EMW badge. Ring in advance, because the owner might be out on a job.

Cracking experience if you are into vintage bikes (mostly British) with more TT memorabilia than you can shake a stick at plus sidecar and motocross as well. Mug of tea and a tall story from the proprietor too if you're lucky.

Let's be honest, this museum and Mike go hand in hand. They compliment each other and the end result is a better experience overall. Mike really knows his stuff when it comes to the bikes and his anecdotes are worthy of legend. I can easily see myself visiting here again! Be sure to phone a few days prior in order to give Mike a decent heads-up though, he's a super-busy guy.

A small collection of around 70 bikes, all of ages, makes and sizes, along with posters trophies etc, the real gem is Mike the owner whose passion is quite clearly the bikes and there history. An accomplished TT racer, Mike has tales and stories of his days racing(he still does) of people and places. Well worth a visit and even if your not bike rider. Highly recomended

I came to visit the museum as a surprise of my father in 2019, mike was building a new space to make the museum bigger and that day the museum was closed, but Mike let us get inside and showed us all the museum and explaining us every story about all the bikes and cars that he has. Mike and his partner were super kind. I'll come again and visit Mike because the place is awesome and Mike is a fantastic man. Thanks Mike for the time you shared with me and my family years ago.

This is a small museum but we'll worth a visit. It really reminds me of the old village garages and the beautiful bikes of times past. You get a warm welcome from the owner and his lovely dogs....
