Spent the night here as had a course nearby. A shame I couldn't try the restaurant due to it being a Monday evening, however the breakfast was delicious, and there was plenty of choice. My room was perfect for me as I was travelling solo. Very peaceful at night and great nights sleep

Been and eaten here 4 times now and the last time bought guests from out of town. The last time we asked to eat and had to go through the menu to see what the chef was prepared to do!. Bizarre but fair enough if they were busy and he was alone. Today booked table for 3 for Sunday carvery. Got seated at the furthest table from the restaurant and there were that many people around the table I had the bottom of a guys coat resting on my neck while sitting. I have no problem if your too busy but don't take a booking if that's the case. I've seen a post about people being late yet the table available had a 2:15 reserve on at 2:35 and nobody had turned up while we were offered a coffee table for 3 people go eat at. Cancelled the order and left. If your full don't take bookings. Put me right off the place tbh and gutted as used to like it there.

From the moment we sent an email enquiring about holding our joint wedding/birthday celebration at The White Lion, we received a totally professional, personal and first class service from Yolanda, Chris and their team. The venue is extremely homely and the staff so welcoming and friendly, we held our event in marquees in the beautiful garden. Yolanda served everyone an amazing afternoon tea, with Chris keeping everyone entertained with his brilliant magician set. In the evening, we had pizza's made in their own pizza oven. We booked all the bedrooms for our guests, which were of a very high standard. We had the best day ever and cannot thank them enough for making it so special, we will definitely be returning for their excellent Sunday Carvery, Vicky and Andy Miller

Excellent Sunday carvery, amazing attentive friendly staff. Party of 20 people all served quickly. Chef is a real character. Nice garden too but it was raining so not for our visit.

Top quality ale and a brilliant beer garden with amazing hanging baskets. Has to been seen it is so pleasant and delightful. A proper joy!!!

This is how a village pub should be, impeccably maintained, gorgeous garden and great service. The food, not being too adventurous, is very good and the Everard's beers are very well kept and served. Always been very happy on every visit and will definitely be back.

DON'T BE LATE FOR A BOOKING! I'm honestly upset with our service last night for my mums 50th birthday meal. We arrived 10 minutes late for our booking, but were seated at our table okay, until we were told that we couldn't be served for an hour due to us being slightly late. We were able to have drinks, whilst sitting and waiting, watching other party's sit down, eat and leave before us. Our order wasn't even taken in the mean time, it was exactly an hour before they even took our order. Watching my mum and the rest of the family starve whilst we waited to have our order taken was really upsetting to see. IT FELT LIKE A PUNISHMENT. Also, we received a copy of our drinks order during the wait that we didn't order, thinking it may have been complimentary for the wait, but they wasn't. They had to take them back to the bar. Train wreck! Disgusted that we didn't receive an apology for having to sit and wait so long. A bit of quality customer service goes a long way. I embarrassed myself in front of my family booking this place for my Mum's birthday meal and am taking her else where tonight to make it up to her. Don't make the same mistake as me and take your mum out for a meal here. She deserves better.

Very impressed with The White Lion Inn. The beautiful flower hanging baskets, which are placed mainly on the main entrance side, are extremely colourful and give a good impression before you enter the pub. We ordered fish & chips, which was competitively priced, and excellent. The service was top-rate, the food was delivered within 10-15 minutes of ordering, even though the restaurant was fairly busy, and we hadn't pre-booked. The owners and staff were very attentive, and I would recommend visiting the The White Lion, for food and drinks.

Wow where do I start ... On arrival we were taken aback with the display of hanging baskets ..only to find out they are the work of the landlady ....don't know how she does it ... We're just back from a lovely weekend stay ...the staff are so welcoming..we sat out in the beer garden on the first evening and ate our meal outside ...it was a perfect warm evening.. And the breakfasts were the tastiest weve ever eaten ... The rooms were spotless .... Yollander the lovely owner suggested where to visit on the Saturday... and it was perfect advice .... I can honestly say ( and we have stayed in places all over the British Isles) Chris and Yollander .... for what your offering ... you need to charge more ... We 100% intend to return ... Again thanks to all the hard working staff

Pleasant country pub with excellent quality cask ales and well presented meals and sandwiches, plus friendly & cheerful staff. Well worth a visit.

Had 3 lovely meals over 3 days .Service and staff friendly and very efficient .The food was outstanding trying the fish ,steak pie ,scampi and traditional fish and chips .The pub is a real gem dog friendly in an outstanding location .

Cute pub but food very expensive for what it is....portion size very small...platter £18, tiny, 2 small pieces of bread and a handful of other bits... OK food, very strong smell of dogs everywhere. Will not return for food. Definitely ordered and PAID for the £18 platter...was not worth the money.
