An absolute fantastic stay, we shall be back. From the moment of arrival the staff went out of their way to assist us. I am disabled and they helped us to an outstanding room on the ground floor, brought luggage from car park👍 The room, service and food were outstanding at a great price. Booked this hotel to spend my birthday and had a great time. There was a card waiting in my room and a special dessert at dinner which was a lovely touch! There room was lovely and the food at dinner and breakfast was great. The staff were all fantastic as well, would highly recommend!!

we booked a table for 10 in the bar area - couldn't go in the restaurant as we have dogs! It was for my wife's birthday. The staff did a great job and the food was delicious. One small blemish - the car park is totally inadequate

We went to dinner at the Close Hotel and the experience was far beyond expectations. After a day in Bath we thought a stop in Tetbury for dinner sounded good on our way home. Without much planning we found the Close Hotel and were so impressed. The food was delightful, the service perfect and the fire was so warm on that late autumn night. Could not have asked for a better experience. This was probably the best meal we have had out in the UK for 4 months. We will be back.

Visited when we were on a trip through the Cotswolds with friends A lovely tranquil place for lunch away from the busyness of the summer crowds Enjoyed lunch in the garden on a sunny day and staff very friendly and food delicious then back to browsing thru lovely shops in Tetley

Our stay at The Close for 2 nights was so nice. The atmosphere of the hotel was lovely, service was very good. The outdoor garden area was nicely presented to be able sit out and eat or drink. Breakfast was exceptional, with quality produce and waiting staff We also had afternoon tea and scones, which were the best scones, jam & cream I have ever had, so coming from Australia it was the perfect English experience for me. So, I think there is a very good chef there in the kitchen. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The bath products were of very good quality. We would definitely stay again, if in the area.

What a lovely stay here at the Close Hotel. Service is very professional and to the point which I really like. I was always treated well with a smile. The room was really good. Everything I needed was there. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I enjoyed a great night's sleep. The room was also very clean and tidy with a beautiful view over the back garden, which I must say is delightful. The room was called Nightingale. Room service was excellent, and the food was very good. Breakfast I thought was my highlight, again, great service and delicious selection to suit everyone's tastes. Overall, very satisfied and would recommend. Safe parking is available and easily accessible. The hotel is also right on the high street which is handy.

We stayed in this delightful hotel for 3 nights wef 19th August. I booked a Superior double Room as we were celebrating my husbands birthday. It was perfect. All very comfortable with a coffee machine (a must for us coffee drinkers) 2 armchairs, a bathroom with all toiletries, robes, slippers and an excellent shower. The breakfasts are all cooked to order which made a nice change from 'buffet style', and we had a nice meal in the restaurant and a bar meal on our last night. The staff were all so helpful and friendly and we could not fault our experience except......the weather!!!! We had so hoped to be able to sit outside with a drink or indeed eat a meal in the delightful gardens but not this time unfortunately.

Rarely do I write a low review. Here goes. We did not stay at the hotel, but only ate at the restaurant out back in the garden. The views were 5 stars, garden area was amazing. The service was almost non-existent. 4 wait staff for 5 tables, not busy at all. It took 22 minutes to get water. Table was dirty when we sat down and we had to clean it ourselves. 25 minutes to get a glass of wine and we had to remind the staff twice. They were just sitting around not working. We ordered a gourmet burger/fries, and my wife ordered a margarita pizza. The burger was perfect and I would give it 5/5, the fries were great as well. My wife's pizza turned out to be a cheese pizza and I'm almost certain it was a frozen pizza. We asked what the pizza it was and the staff said a margarita pizza. No way, no tomatoes, no basil, just sauce and cheese and an undercooked dough base. If the service was better, I would not be writing this review. Please make your food service match your hotel look and feel.

Our favourite hotel from a recent trip through the Cotswolds. We had a delightful stay - from sitting in the courtyard on a sunny May afternoon with gins in hand, to the spacious room. Cannot recommend more!

Beautiful garden but unfortunately the food and service did not live up to this when we had dinner there. We always had to proactively call the waiter to order. My steak (I ordered medium) came completely done. I complained and they were so kind to take it back but unfortunately the second one wasn’t better.

First the positive. Beautiful place, great restaurant staff. The negative - the food is just OK, overpriced and don't bother getting the breakfast. The hotel service is none existent and both the front desk and managerial staff are unapologetic and unhelpful to anything wrong. Make sure you SPECIFY that you want something that is described being part of the room on the website, who knows you might not even have a bed if you don't email them and ask. Dont bother booking any of the higher tier rooms as even though you're paying more you might still not get the room you booked. Honestly great place ruined by horrible management.

Great location. Lovely sheltered garden. Room well appointed but room and bed on the small side for the price. Bathroom bigger than the bedroom but only had shower in the bath

An atmospheric location to stay & have a meal. The Restaurant serves a selection of fine meals, all eloquently prepared to a high standard. Lovely atmosphere inside & the Hotel has a fine garden area outside to view. Booking essential if not staying at the Hotel.
