Saffron Gardens Indian Restaurant.. Food was amazing. Highly recommended as atmosphere was great and service was nicely timed-not too rushed between courses. Large portions too. Can't wait to go back

Terrible Experience – Unauthorized Charges and Zero Customer Care I stayed at the Douglas Arms Hotel in early August, and it has been a nightmare ever since. After paying for my room upfront, the hotel charged me an additional £180 without my authorization. Despite contacting them repeatedly, I was promised a resolution by August 18th, but here we are, well past that date, and I have yet to receive my money back. Their communication has been abysmal, with empty promises and no follow-up. I’ve had to chase them every step of the way, and still, nothing has been resolved. I am now forced to pursue legal action to get my money back. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs. They clearly have no regard for their customers or basic business ethics.

The bar and restaurant part of the hotel was modern, with a lovely decking area outside. Unfortunately there was no food being served, other than breakfast, and the bar shut at 7pm. The bottle of prosecco we bought was very pricey compared to other places. Breakfast was served from 9am, and there were two members of staff serving, one was very friendly and welcoming, unfortunately the other one not so much. She appeared not to want to be there, was not welcoming or friendly, and we felt like an inconvenience to her. I asked for brown bread for my toast but was told they only had white. There was a Coop across the road where I am sure she could have bought some brown bread. Her colleague was thankfully much more friendly and helpful. The entrance to the bedrooms was dated, with old carpets and stairs, and the room was small and requires an upgrade, although it was clean enough. The room was very hot as the temperature outside was high and the window could only be slightly opened, so it was an uncomfortable night. I wouldn't return to the hotel in the future.

Great dog friendly place. Staff very friendly and outdoor balcony great. 2 for 1 cocktails Saturdays, food served not tried as had other plans.
