Liquilab e le stanze della memoria
Museum | Tricase | Puglia | Italy
"Liquilab and the rooms of memory" in Tricase, Apulia, is a cultural center dedicated to the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage. It was established by the non-profit organization Liquilab, which emerged from the project "Laboratori liquidi sui gap di memorie, ricordi e identità giovanili" in 2009.
The center is located in the "Bottega di Memorie e Identità Giovanili," a renovated former Dominican convent in Tricase. It serves as a creative space for the local community and a research site for anthropology, art, and tourism. Various activities are carried out here, including studies, research, workshops, and internships focusing on the appreciation of ancient, modern, and intercultural memory.
A central project of Liquilab is "LiquiMag – Magazzino delle Memorie," a virtual archive containing anthropological knowledge such as life stories, films, photographs, and audio recordings documenting the folk history of ordinary people.
By combining anthropological research, art, and tourism, Liquilab aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the region and promote active citizenship, social, and cultural inclusion. The center is a place of exchange and encounter where the history and traditions of the region are kept alive.
