Abbiamo pranzato da Soup in Town e ci siamo trovati molto bene, sia per il cibo che per l'accoglienza del proprietario e del personale. Cibo genuino, non industriale. La ragazza che serve ai tavoli è semplicemente squisita e professionale.

Sempre bello trovare realtà incentrate sulla scelta vegana/vegetariana, questo posto non fa da meno. La proposta è molto limitata, il che non è un difetto in se, ma siamo rimasti un po’ delusi dal poco range e dalla poco originalità. Prezzi altini, ma la qualità degli ingredienti non manca. Personale gentile ed amichevole.

This establishment falsely advertises itself as vegetarian/vegan but sells meat. When I entered, I specifically asked if it was a vegetarian restaurant, and the owner confirmed that it was. I placed an order, but during my meal, I noticed other patrons eating sausages that weren’t listed on the menu. Curious, I asked the owner if those were plant-based sausages (like Beyond Meat), as they appeared unusually realistic. Shockingly, he admitted they were regular pork sausages. I later spoke to some locals who explained that this restaurant had rebranded as vegetarian/vegan but never actually stopped selling meat. It seems like a blatant attempt to profit off the growing plant-based market while deceiving customers. This kind of false advertising is not only unethical but also deeply disappointing. There are plenty of genuinely vegetarian and vegan establishments in the area—save your money and support businesses that align with your values. To raise awareness, I posted this same review on Facebook and TripAdvisor. In response, the owner insulted me, calling me a "nazi" and a "moron." If you browse other negative reviews on TripAdvisor, you’ll notice that his replies are consistently aggressive, and at times, even xenophobic. Despite openly admitting to selling meat, he refuses to remove the vegetarian/vegan label.

Posto super carino, curato e accogliente. Abbiamo mangiato tanti prodotti vegetariani che non si trovano da altre parti! Il pezzo forte? In assoluto proprietario che rallegra il locale con simpatia e gentilezza!

If you think paying 14€ for a bowl of steamed, unseasoned veggies and rice sounds good, then this is the place for you. My wife and I were extremely disappointed and did not like the food at all. I eat lots of veggies, but I prefer to cook them in a way that adds flavour and brings out the best in them. Steaming has its place - for example steamed broccoli as a side - but if the main part of the dish is steamed cauliflower and carrots, it's going to be bland. I initially wrote a neutral review where I tried to find positives, but because of the rude response by the owner, I've changed my review to reflect my honest opinion.

Soup in Town è un accogliente locale vegetariano. Il personale è stato gentilissimo e sempre disponibile a spiegare i piatti del menu. Abbiamo assaggiato il minestrone con farro, fagioli e curry: molto molto buono. La Buddha bowl era altrettanto deliziosa, ricca di ingredienti freschissimi e ben bilanciata. Perfetta per chi cerca cibo sano, e gustoso. Non vediamo l’ora di tornare! 🌿✨

Abbiamo frequentato questo locale per tutti i giorni in cui siamo stati a Lucca comics, CONSIGLIATTISSIMO!!! Personale gentile, simpatico e cordiale e i piatti sono a dir poco squisiti. Per noi ormai sarà tappa fissa ogni volta che saremo a Lucca e dintorni.

Very nice little restaurant, perfect for vegetarians and vegans that are in Lucca! I had dinner here last weekend. I had an amazing vegan Buddah Bowl and served by very kind staff. Will for sure come back next time when I am in Lucca!!

Localino Meraviglioso. Ho pranzato qui per il Lucca Comics. Buddha Bowl strepitoso, fatto con verdure freschissime. Cheesecake da paura. Personale simpaticissimo. 10 e lode.

Si tratta di uno dei pochi locali a lucca che propongono piatti vegani quindi per questo lo abbiamo scelto. Ci sono però troppe cose che non vanno, dalle posate inserite in dei bicchieri su un tavolo vicino al bancone dove chiunque si avvicini al banco può mettere le mani, un po’ di confusione sul concetto di vegano visto che ci è stato proposto il buccellato come dolce, prezzi alti per una Buddha bowl, assenza di menu al tavolo ma una semplice lavagna non molto leggibile. Purtroppo non ci torneremo, un grande potenziale non ben sfruttato.

Loveliest little place. The wine was fantastic, the food options were delightful. As a vegan, I loved the soup and the focaccia was the best I’ve had in Italy. Staff were cordial and kind. If I lived in Lucca I’d be a regular.

They wouldn't let me sit outside as I was on my own even though half the tables were empty. Better couple up if you want to enjoy Italian weather on your holiday... I decided to stay anyway as I was craving something other than cheesy pizza and pasta. The menu is on the wall or the waitress recites it to you, which must be great if you're actually vegan and/or have food allergies. I got the Buddha bowl. It was... OK. Which is what I told the chef (owner, I guess) when he asked if it was OK. A bit bland, with overcooked broccoli, no garnish (some pickled veg would be great). Wouldn't be out of place in a students canteen. For 14 euros I'd expect more. Would be 3 stars but the bathroom door doesn't close. I told the waitress and all she said was "I know". Well, as long as you know your clients can't use the bathroom if they're not willing to be barged in on. Can't wait for the angry reply! EDIT: No, there were no reservations on the tables outside. I was told I can't sit there as I am only one. People who came after me were able to choose where they wanted to sit. No need to lie. And yes, I realize some people like bland food and some don't. This is my review, not other people's.

Tutte le volte che vengo a Lucca, pranzo qui. Adoro questo bel posticino, in questa bella piazzetta, dove il cibo è genuino e delizioso, perché sono i piatti semplici quelli più buoni. Da provare la bowl vegana e le zuppe. Ci sono anche piatti vegetariani. Unico neo: spesso non hanno i falafel, spero la prossima volta di trovarli! Il titolare una persona squisita, personale preparato e gentile. Super onesto il conto.

Cibo vegano e vegetariano, molto buono e ad un buon prezzo, personale cortese. Peccato sia un poco difficile capire che cosa esattamente ci sarà nel piatto ordinato. Sarebbe bello lasciare al cliente la possibilità di comporre il piatto a piacimento. Comunque consigliato!

Proprietario scortese e maleducato, ci siamo seduti in 3 ma solo uno di noi doveva mangiare, gli altri avrebbero preso una bibita, allora una volta avuta questa informazione il proprietario con aria spavalda ci dici " se siete seduti in tre dovete per forza mangiare tutti", al che sono rimaato solo io al tavolo, sono stato spostato in un tavolo interno con caldo assurdo, allora chiedo di rimettermi fuori dato che il locale era vuoto e riscontro nuovamente la sgarbatezza del proprietario, me ne sono andato a quel punto, mi spiace che non sappia trattare le persone e fare un minimo di marketin Faccio il suo stesso lavoro e le assicuro che si faccio sedere tre persone se una deve mangiare e le altre no, senza problemi avrebbero preso qualcosa in più da bere le altre persone ed inoltre dato che il posto era pressoché vuoto non vedo dove fosse questo grande problema, dato che in 15 minuti saremmo andati via. Lo chiamo marketing perché delle persone in un ristorante vuoto fanno da "vetrina" semplicemente. Cordiali saluti caro.
