The Parco Naturale delle Dolomiti Friulane is an impressive nature reserve in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy. It covers an area of approximately 36,950 hectares and includes mainly areas in the province of Pordenone as well as parts of the province of Udine. The park was established in 1996 and is known for its pristine wilderness and the stunning mountain landscape of the Friulian Dolomites.
The geology of the park is characterized by rugged peaks, deep valleys, and impressive rock formations. A notable landmark is the Campanile di Val Montanaia, a free-standing rock tower often referred to as the "bell tower" and a popular destination for climbers.
The flora of the park is diverse, ranging from dense forests of spruce and pine to alpine meadows that bloom in full in the summer. These different habitats provide ideal conditions for a rich fauna. The park is home to chamois, deer, red deer, Alpine ibexes, and marmots, among others. Particularly noteworthy is the presence of the golden eagle, which is considered a symbol of the park.

One of the most famous is the "Anello delle Dolomiti Friulane," a circular route that connects the most beautiful areas of the park. In addition, the park is part of the long-distance hiking trail "Alta Via n. 6," known as the "Via dei Silenzi," which leads through particularly quiet and untouched areas.
The park has several visitor centers that provide information on the nature, geology, and culture of the region. These centers are located in various communities within the park and offer exhibitions on topics such as local fauna, flora, and history.
