Palazzo Torres
Museum | Bolzano | Trentino-Alto Adige | Italy
The "Palazzo Torres Massimo Lancellotti" is located in Rome, Italy, and was built in 1560 by Pirro Ligorio in the neo-Venetian Renaissance style. The construction was completed under the direction of Carlo Maderno, who gave the palace its current decorative structure in the courtyard. The palace is named after the Torres family, who commissioned the construction. The facade of the palace is characterized by travertine-clad windows on three floors, as well as a portal flanked by columns that provides access to the courtyard. The courtyard is surrounded by columns and adorned with floral stucco motifs and bas-reliefs. Some of the statues that once stood in the palace's loggia were moved to the Vatican Museums for safety. Inside the palace, allegorical frescoes by Agostino Tassi and Guercino can still be admired.
